Today, we enter a new phase. This one is marked by rhetorical analysis, the capstone of this learning experience will be the Rhetorical Analysis Essay

You’ve already had a bit of practice analyzing a text’s rhetorical situation. Today we will go a bit deeper into the world of rhetoric. 

Agenda:

  1. Review rhetorical situation worksheet in groups 
  2. Have an all-class discussion of rhetorical situation worksheet 
  3. Free write: What do you know about rhetoric?
  4. Share with the class. 
  5. Review rhetorical strategies, appeals, analysis.

Due by 9am next Wednesday (October 6): 

1. Read June Jordan’s “Nobody Mean More to Me Than You and the Future Life of Willie Jordan.”

2. Complete a rhetorical situation worksheet ( Word | Google Docs ) for Jordan’s essay.
